What we can say to schools trying to enforce new policies?
As the COVID situation evolves, vaccine passports are being discussed openly. Once the fear of “conspiracy theorists”, these Orwellian measures are becoming reality. Schools and universities appear to be leading the charge to limit individual’s access to education based on receiving COVID-19 vaccination. In fact, California state universities just announed they will require students to have received the COVID-19 vaccine prior to starting classes in the fall.
One of the first schools to announce a COVID-19 vaccination requirement to enroll for fall 2021 was Rutgers University. Announcements like these strike fear and anxiety into the hearts of parents and college-bound students. In response to the Rutgers news, Laraine C. Abbey-Katzev Registered Nurse (emeritus) and Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) with a Master’s-Degree in Biology/Clinical Nutrition, composed a letter to expose the risk for potential injury and death from the vaccines themselves and to highlight that mandating of any experimental medical product or treatment violates existing law, exposing schools and businesses to a bevy of lawsuits.
Word of the letter to Rutgers’s spread and many people expressed an interest in sending a copy to other institutions. Re: Proposed COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate
Dear President Holloway, Chancellor Strom, and Dr. Gracias:
We are concerned professionals, parents and citizens expressing our alarm over Rutgers’ decision to mandate COVID vaccines. While we presume this decision was made with the best of intentions, we implore you to reconsider as requiring your 70,000+ university students to take this experimental COVID vaccine unnecessarily exposes them to unknown short-term and long-term risks.
Many physicians and researchers around the world are challenging vaccine safety claims and have great concern over long-term consequences of these experimental gene therapies that lack long-term study. The industry claims of “safe and effective” is a public relations marketing phrase—not scientific truth.1
Reports of injury are corroborated by CDC’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). The number of injury reports, including miscarriages and deaths, now exceed 205,000 events with 2,216 reported deaths as of March 19th, and continue to accumulate. Over a span of a few months, this begs the question: what kind of product offered to the public contains this many harmful reports but without any efforts to redress them?
Further, 205,000 is likely a fraction of the actual incidence as a Harvard Pilgrim Health study, facilitated by a federal government grant, found that most adverse events remain unreported. The study determined that only about 1% of injuries and deaths are ever reported to VAERS.2 With only 1% reporting, the real number of injuries would be in the millions. If there were millions of injuries, would you consider these vaccines safe?3
COVID vaccines are currently permitted for use under the Pandemic Readiness Emergency Program (PREP Act). This is an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) and not the same as an FDA approval. Your mandate would appear to be unlawful under federal law 21 U.S.C. § 360bbb-3(e)(1)(A)(ii)(III) as it would force enrollment of your students into a clinical experiment in exchange for their right to a Rutgers University education.
According to a New York Times survey of more than 1900 colleges and universities, COVID deaths among college students is virtually non-existent with only 4 student deaths out of 90 campus deaths reported among 390,000 “cases.” The remaining small numbers of 0.02% of cases were staff deaths.4 CDC graphs confirm that COVID deaths in young folks are extremely low and pretty close to zero in those under 24 years as seen in this CDC graph.5
This begs the question of why would we even consider mandating COVID vaccines for college students? As of this writing, most of the 561,701 US deaths attributed to COVID19 are individuals over 75 years of age. Total US deaths are 0.17% of the total US population, which means that a whopping 99.83% of us have NOT died from COVID19.
The idea that student asymptomatic carriers will sicken everyone else is simply untrue as asymptomatic transmission is pretty much a myth as noted in this Journal Pediatrics 2021 report, Incidence and Secondary Transmission of SARS-CoV-2 Infection in Schools in a nine-week study with over 90,000 students.6
Imposing vaccines on students to “protect” others is particularly non-sensical since these vaccines have not been proven to prevent transmission. This is a violation of individual sovereignty promulgated by authorities who presume to know what is best for individuals without knowing their medical histories nor circumstances.
And why take all this vaccine risk for an infection that we now know is largely preventable and successfully treatable with a variety of nutrients and inexpensive, safe, long-used medications?
Despite extensive published peer-reviewed research, this information is ignored or maligned by our public health leadership and inexplicably barred from standard of care guidelines. For example, multiple published studies on COVID patients show adequate vitamin D3 levels pretty much singularly ensure never arriving in the intensive care unit (ICU) of any hospital. Have you ever heard this vital information shared along with other COVID prevention guidance?
So, where is the logic in exposing all of Rutgers’ students to a risk of death or permanent health harm from a vaccine for an infection from which they barely get sick, let alone die?
Pharma is quite literally turning all of humanity, from cradle to grave, into lab rats. Given the numbers of campus “cases,” most students and staff alike probably already have natural immunity as we now have strong evidence that herd immunity is being achieved. Natural immunity is durable and long-lasting, so why is Rutgers forcing those youth who’ve already had this virus and developed natural immunity to take a vaccine?
Our youth are being coerced into choosing between a potential threat to their health and safety or pursuit of their education for realization of their future dreams.
Despite this knowledge, the pharmaceutical industry, working through public health authorities, will continue encouraging all townships, institutions, businesses and health care facilities to push their vaccines. This push is felt as well to other colleges and universities—already following Rutgers’ lead—thereby putting an entire generation of young people at risk.
Do you currently believe that our public health agencies and authorities are entirely trustworthy sources? Remember Fauci’s multiple guidance flip-flops? Remember masking to “flatten the curve?” Our public health agencies have countless conflicts of interest as our healthcare alphabet agencies like CDC, FDA, and NIH are too closely aligned in a staffing revolving door with pharmaceutical companies engaged in ongoing corruption. The conflicts of interest among these parties are legion and well-documented.
Consider that the pharmaceutical industry through their dollars, exerts considerable control over medical education, media, the airwaves (medication commercials), the medical and science journals, some university research programs, and many elected legislators through their campaign funds. Companies and public health authorities routinely manipulate data (recall the Vioxx clinical trials). The pharmaceutical industry’s well-funded PR machine has a long history of aggressively discrediting physicians, researchers, and others who threaten their dominance as they sabotage research that challenges their interests and bottom line.
These liability-free vaccines are manufactured by companies who’ve paid billions in fines for fraud crimes in both research and marketing including lying about safety. Pfizer paid out a whopping $2.3 billion in 20097 and Johnson & Johnson $2.2 billion over Risperdal and other medications.8 Are you sure you want to trust your students and the whole of humanity to them?
Psychiatrist Norman Doidge, MD said in a statement—
“COVID vaccines, which advocates will want to be mandatory… is being done with endorsement of public health officials, the same ones, in many cases who are saying HCQ is suddenly extremely dangerous. …it is a fantastic spectacle to behold, a reversal, the magnitude and the chutzpah of which must inspire awe: a public health establishment, showing extraordinary risk aversion to medications and treatments that are extremely well known, and had been used by billions, suddenly throwing caution to the wind and endorsing the rollout of treatments that are entirely novel—and about which we literally can’t possibly know anything, as regards to their long-term effects.”
He also pointed out damning conflicts of interests introduced by liability protection:
“Their manufacturers know this well themselves, which is why they have aimed for, insisted on, and have already been granted indemnification—guaranteed, by those same public health officials and government that they will not be held legally accountable should their product cause injury.”9
So, what is really going on here? Inexpensive, safe options—that can be used to treat those people who are really sick—are suppressed and even censored, while risky, marginally-tested substances are pushed to be injected into all of humanity with impunity, and virtue-signaled through looming immunity passports of NAZI-style “show me your papers” fame.
Your decision may be injurious to students’ health and well-being. Proceeding with this unlawful mandate, would subject Rutgers University to liability lawsuits for student vaccine injury.
We sincerely hope you will reconsider your plan of mandating these COVID19 products.
